Dental Assistant: Key Responsibilities

The Dental Hygiene Assistant role promotes quality dental care for patients in a comfortable environment by assisting the Dental Hygienist, educating patients, maintaining equipment and inventory, and following all OSHA and MIOSHA requirements to ensure a safe environment for patients and team members.  

• Prepare patients and assist the hygienist during treatment.
• Take x-rays bitewings and full-mouths.
• Perform instrument sterilization and infection control.
• Clean and stock operatory while maintaining inventory of clinical supplies.
• Make clinical notes regarding patient treatment, update health histories, and collect consent forms when applicable.

Qualifications:

• High school graduate or equivalent. (Required)
• Knowledge of Microsoft 360 (Required)
• 2 years Dental experience preferred.
• CPR and first aid preferred.
• X-ray certified preferred.
