Responsibilities

Position Summary

 

The Director of Operations will play a pivotal role in driving operational excellence across our dental centers. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), this position will lead, mentor, and support the operations team, ensuring our centers achieve sustainable long-term growth objectives. This role will be instrumental in shaping operational strategies, standardizing processes, and achieving growth and profitability targets, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.

 

Typical Duties and Responsibilities

 

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute operational strategies to drive company goals and center growth objectives
  • Collaborate with cross-functional leaders in clinical operations, finance, marketing, human resources, and IT to support centers and ensure seamless integration of new systems and initiatives
  • Lead initiatives to enhance the patient experience, streamline operations, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards

Performance Optimization

  • Oversight of regional managers and office managers, setting and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor performance
  • Identify and implement best practices across all centers to maximize productivity, patient satisfaction, and profitability
  • Drive continuous improvement through data analysis, performance feedback, and the introduction of new technologies and processes

Team Development and Leadership

  • Build, develop, and lead a high-performing regional team, empowering them to lead and support their respective practices
  • Champion a culture of accountability, integrity, and service excellence across all levels of operations
  • Facilitate professional growth and development opportunities for team members through training, coaching, and mentorship

Financial and Budgetary Oversight

  • Develop and execute practice-level budget targets, working closely with finance to monitor financial performance and ensure alignment with strategic goals
  • Achieve P&L and cash flow goals by identifying opportunities for growth, improving operational efficiencies, and managing costs effectively
  • Support centers in achieving their financial objectives by analyzing trends, forecasting, and recommending adjustments


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

 

  • A strategic visionary with sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment and strong operational focus
  • Strong knowledge of dental practice operations, including scheduling, patient flow, billing, and insurance processes
  • Proven track record of successfully leading high-performing teams and implementing operational strategies that drive growth and efficiency
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to analyze financial and operational data
  • Familiarity with dental industry regulations and compliance requirements
  • A well-organized and self-directed individual who is “politically savvy”, and a team player
  • An intelligent and articulate individual who can relate to people at all levels of an organization and possesses excellent communication skills
  • A good educator who is trustworthy, has strong interpersonal skills and is willing to share information and serve as a mentor
  • A decisive individual who has a “big picture” perspective
  • The ability to work a flexible schedule that may include travel weekly up to 50% percent of time
